The firefighting professionals and staff of the Turlock Fire Department (TFD) are proud to serve the citizens of the City of Turlock in Stanislaus County. Turlock is geographically located in the center of the San Joaquin Valley of California. It is the second largest City in Stanislaus County and is located along the Highway 99 corridor.

Responding to approximately 7,000 calls for service each year (from 4 Fire Stations), TFD is a high-performance fire department. In terms of critical infrastructure, TFD is the emergency service provider for a number of high-hazard occupancies, including commercial processing facilities; 1 hospital with an emergency department; the Stanislaus County Fair Grounds; and California State University Stanislaus, with a student population of more than 9,000 on a 228-acre campus.

The Turlock Fire Department would like to congratulate Captain Frank Saldivar on his retirement. Captain Saldivar worked in the fire service for 40 years of which 32 of those years he spent serving the City of Turlock.

Yesterday, Turlock Fire Department was called to assist in getting a cat out of a tree. The cat had recently surgery and had been in the tree for 3 days. Firefighters were able to retrieve the cat and safely return it to the owner.

Today, at approximately 4:56 pm, all Turlock Fire units responded to a working structure fire in the 900 block of Souza St. First arriving crews found smoke and flames coming from the second story of a barn. Crews brought the fire under control within 30 minutes.

Last night, at approximately 10:12 pm, Turlock fire department responded to the report of a vehicle fire in the 1100 block of Colorado Ave. While responding, the call was upgraded to a potential structure fire due to reports of the carport on fire as well.
