Animal Control

Animal Control's purpose is to promote health and safety in the Turlock community related to animal issues and services. In 2006, Animal Control Services impounded 1,087 dogs and 1,741 cats. 33 percent of dogs and 71 percent of cats impounded were euthanized. 24 percent of dogs and 1 percent of cats were returned to their owners. 29 percent of dogs and 16 percent of cats were adopted/rescued from the facility. Currently, three full-time animal control officers, two part-time kennel attendant/assitant ACOs, and a part-time cashier staff the facility.
