The work consists, in general, of: the construction of two (2) irrigation production wells having a design capacity of 250 gallons per minute. The work shall include but not be limited to, drilling two (2) test holes to a depth of 150 feet, provide a log of drilled cuttings and an electronic log (e-log) for each test hole, reaming two (2) irrigation wells to a diameter of 20", installing 10-inch PVC SDR-21 casing, installing PVC SDR-21 slotted well casing, placing the gravel pack, gravel feed tube, air development of each well, test pumping, placing a cement-sand slurry sanitary seal, and furnishing all necessary labor, materials, tools, equipment and incidentals needed to perform the improvements as described in the contract documents complete and in place. This work shall be completed in accordance with the City of Turlock Standard Specifications, Standard Drawings, and these Special Provisions. THERE ARE NO PROJECT PLANS ASSOCIATED WITH THIS PROJECT. A MANDATORY pre-bid meeting will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, June 3rd, 2010 at Donnelly Park. Bidder's attendance is MANDATORY in order for submitted proposals to be considered responsive.

In accordance with and as described and provided in the plans, specifications and the proposed form of contract therefore, all of which are on file in the office of the Purchasing Coordinator, and to which special reference is hereby made, the work shall consist of the following: Replace a total of approximately 1,800 high pressure sodium (HPS) and mercury vapor (MV) Cobra head luminaires located throughout the City of Turlock with energy efficient induction lighting as follows: replace 550 100-watt high pressure sodium and / or mercury vapor cobra head luminaires with new and / or retrofitted luminaires with 50-watt (minimum) induction lamps; replace approximately 770 150-watt high pressure sodium and / or mercury vapor cobra head luminaires with new and / or retrofitted luminaires with 80-watt (minimum) lamps; and replace approximately 480 250-watt high pressure sodium and / or mercury vapor cobra head luminaires with new and / or retrofitted luminaires with 135-watt (minimum) induction lamps. All luminaires shall be labeled with a unique number provided by the local electrical utility as well as the lamp type and wattage. Please note that the replacement luminaires may be either new or factory refurbished ("retrofitted") as long as the entire unit has a 10-year warranty as stipulated in these specifications. All materials shall be furnished by the Contractor. The Contractor will be responsible for the disposal of any and all materials remaining after installation is complete. All said materials shall become the property of the Contractor and shall be reused where possible or recycled appropriately in accordance with applicable EPA regulations for universal waste and the like. All related costs associated with the disposal of said materials shall be the responsibility of the Contractor and shall be included in the bid proposal. Appropriate documentation shall be provided to the City of Turlock on a monthly basis to verify compliance with this disposal provision. You may Purchase Specifications at Municipal Services, 156 S.
